Entry Requirements

For non-UKCP accredited psychotherapists or counsellors, and those working in related fields in the helping professions, at least 2 years post-qualification experience of working directly with clients. In these instances, the training does not confer UKCP Recognised Supervisor or Recognised Training Supervisor status.

To attain UKCP Recognised Supervisor and thereafter Recognised Training Supervisor status, trainees must be at least 3 years post UKCP accreditation. This recognition is open to UKCP accredited practitioners only.

Completion Requirements

Attendance at all three modules and assessment day.

One short (c. 1,500 word) piece of written work and an oral presentation, each demonstrating the trainee supervisor’s approach to, understanding of and reflection on their supervision practice, all as informed by their particular modality.

50 hours of supervision of supervisees (some of which can be gained through live supervision on the course)

30 hours of supervision of supervision (some of which can be gained through live supervision on the course).

All elements of the completion requirements must be fulfilled within 2 years of the end of Module 3.
